DUAL DIAGNOSIS
Support for adults with mental health and substance misuse issues
We understand how important it is for those with mental health and substance misuse issues to be given hope, aspiration and opportunity. That's why we focus equally on recovery and rehabilitation. Providing target support and leveraging existing community services to promote independence, we empower service users to take control of their lives and help them to acquire essential day-to-day living skills.
Supported living accommodation
We have comfortable, safe 24/7-supported residential facilities in key locations across East London and Essex. All sites are well-located for access to local amenities and transport links.
Home-based support
We also offer services to clients in their own homes, enabling them to benefit from high-level support while maintaining full independence.
A holistic approach
We offer a portfolio of targeted support for up to two years in five key areas:
- education and training
- housing issues
- life skills, such as personal finances and debt management
- employment
- emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
We also have expert advisors who can assist clients in accessing pathways to welfare benefits and other entitlements.
Personal development
We want service users to gain the confidence to manage relationships more positively. That means helping them understand how to avoid negative behaviours which pose a risk to the health and safety of themselves and others. Our wide-ranging, person-centred support enables them to make progress to recovery by recognising and building on their strengths, and by learning resilient coping strategies.
We also understand the important role that support networks can play in supporting an individual's journey to recovery and rehabilitation. We work closely with service users' families and friends to ensure, wherever possible, they can benefit from supportive personal relationships.
Quality assurance
We're committed to working in line with the National Service Framework (NSF) for mental health and substance misuse. Our holistic approach is based on the core principles of social inclusion and the Recovery Model.
We encourage our clients to manage and control their mental health. We also provide the support they need to live a balanced lifestyle through healthy eating and exercise.
Who can benefit from our support?
We can accept referrals from any local authority or local agency. Our services are available to adults (over the age of 18) who have complex support needs, including those with mental health and substance abuse issues, as well as those with learning disabilities. This includes clients who may have previously experienced difficulty in accessing or engaging with social care services, and those who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes.
The support we provide is intensive and short-term. Therefore, it is mainly appropriate for individuals with high support needs, for example those in crisis, at risk of offending or in danger of relapse.
Clients must be aware of the referral and be willing to engage positively with regular keyworker support and other external services. Our emphasis is on promoting personal independence. Therefore, service users should be motivated to make changes in their lives and to take an active part in their support and recovery.
